The History of America's Secret Casinos, a FilmApp Documentary
This professionally produced, unique documentary provides a glimpse into an untold chapter of gaming history. Before Las Vegas became the gambling attraction that it is, casinos proliferated all across North America, many owned or operated by people who would become Las Vegas pioneers.
This is the story of those people and those casinos, documented by 91 archival film clips (including vintage Hollywood celebrities) some never before seen. View rare footage and photographs of the Beverly Hills Supper Club (in northern Kentucky across the river from Cincinnati, Ohio), Butte, Montana's casino-studded main street, the elegant gambling houses of 19th century Saratoga Springs (NY) and San Francisco. It includes 14 interviews with some colorful characters who knew the "founders" of Las Vegas.
The documentary was co-produced and edited by veteran international broadcast journalist Steve Herman, who grew up in Cincinnati and Las Vegas.
