Leading Equestrian Emergency Service PRP Rescue Services Ltd has now launched a revolutionary new Rider Rescue Service.
The new service, the first of its kind to utilise smart-phone global satellite positioning to aid equestrian rider safety, is a reaction to public demand and runs alongside a similar Horsebox Breakdown App.
Jon Phillips, Managing Director of PRP, explains “Through our work with the major Emergency Services, the British Horse Society and the British Equine Veterinary Association, we have been made increasingly aware that riders are vulnerable when out with their horses. Trekking, long distance riding, competitions and hacking all present their own problems.
Whether you are riding alone or in a group, an accident requires immediate, professional assistance. Even an accident at a show or event can cause considerable logistical problems. A rider taken to hospital or unable to drive may result in stranded horses and vehicles. This is often compounded by the need for immediate veterinary assistance.
The service covers the assistance of our 24hr specialist equine call handlers who will contact and liaise with emergency services and/or vets on your behalf and also inform next of kin of your situation. Registration also covers the cost of professional horse transport within a ten mile radius of your nominated home/livery address to return your horse to your yard if you are unable to do so. The registration may also be linked to your horse/trailer breakdown membership for full recovery from further afield in event of an accident/emergency whilst competing.
