Some 50 years ago, a young girl in the third grade, decided that she wanted to start baking. She came home from school and decided to get started, even though her mother was not home yet. She decided to make a cake.
That little girl was me. Since that day, I have had many disasters and successes in the kitchen. I still know today, as I knew then, that the kitchen is my favorite place to be to create new recipes, change old ones into something better, or just experiment with a new idea. Most of all, I enjoy the appreciative compliments and smiles all around when something turns out great!
This cookbook is a compilation of over 300 of the best recipes from my first cookbook from 1992, a second edition written by my daughter, Vanessa, (2001) and new ones I have acquired from catering weddings, putting on special events and cooking with my family. My husband, children, and now grandchildren are my biggest fans and I appreciate all they have done to support me. Most of my children are following in the family tradition and plan events that are spectacular and well remembered, as well. My next book will include their best and favorite recipes along with new tried and true favorites of mine.
