What started as a therapeutic passion turned into a business opportunity for the founder of Cupcake Blvd, Angelette Aviles. Although she was raised in the Silver Spring & Rockville areas of Maryland, she planted her own family roots in Florida after graduating from the University of South Florida. In Florida, with her communications experience she owned & operated a Branding & Public relations firm having represented an array of clients for several years in the industry of sports, entertainment, and political elections. She also represented her family’s businesses from an IT consulting firm, to their franchisee ownership of 2 Mr. Empanadas locations, and a Kitchen & Design center.
After moving back to Maryland in 2009, due to her husband’s employment, she still continued to serve her clients in Florida, commuting back & forth. Rather than dealing with her relocation to Maryland with “retail therapy” she opted for baking & experimented with various ingredients and her grandmother’s advice. Before she knew it, Aviles would start receiving requests from strangers to provide cupcakes for birthdays and corporate events.
When people began asking for business cards and website information Angelette realized she had a good product and needed to go all the way. Angelette & her team of bakers pride themselves with using natural & fine ingredients such as vanilla beans & freshly squeezed citrus & zest. No short cuts & no shortening!
