The SOS QR app will help you be prepared and stay safe during an emergency, with unique features available at home or when traveling around the world: a one-touch SOS and OK buttons that alert your emergency contacts that you are either in need of help, or are ok, with your GPS location, and an emergency record attached to a personal QR code that lets emergency responders quickly access your critical health information.

The app lets you quickly create for you and your loved ones emergency records with easy entry of emergency medical information such as potentially life threatening allergies, medications, immunizations, or medical conditions using convenient pick lists, and your emergency contact information. Once an emergency record is created, the app generates a QR code unique to the individual. The QR code can be saved on the phone lock screen for immediate access by emergency responders. (The QR code can also be printed on stickers which can then, for example, be applied on a child's bike helmet or skateboard or, in another example, a magnet on the fridge of an elderly person's home).

In an emergency situation, emergency personnel can scan your QR code with any widely available QR code scanner and quickly see your pertinent health information in one of five languages (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Mandarin Chinese) depending on the language setting of the phone of the emergency responder. In addition, when the QR code is scanned, SOS QR automatically generates Email Auto-Alerts to your listed contacts, with a map with the location of the emergency (E-Mail Auto-Alerts are available with the SOS Premium in-app purchase).

The SOS button (also available with SOS Premium) lets you quickly reach out to your emergency contacts. When the button is tapped, the app automatically dials your designated primary emergency contact, and sends editable text messages to all of your emergency contacts with the GPS location of the emergency. The OK button lets your emergency contacts know you are ok, if your situation changes and you no longer need help, or to reassure your loved ones at a time of a natural disaster or other dangerous situation where you might be in proximity of. The OK button can also be used to alert your contacts that you are ok in a disaster scenario without sending an SOS message ahead of time.
