The Festyvent app is your companion for festivals and events that have signed up to use Festyvent to provide you with information on their activities taking place, the artists and exhibitors on show and where and when you can see them.
The features you can enjoy are accessible using the buttons at the bottom of the screen. These include:
The Timeline which shows event details, videos, photos, and a combined event social media stream.
The Lineup that details the schedule, the performers and links to related content. Here you can mark "Going" which puts the scheduled time in your calendar together with an alert to remind you 15minutes before the start.
Performers which is a list of artists and exhibitors in alphabetical order where you can explore details about each artist and see the locations where they are performing.
Maps show the event’s key locations, lets you mark your own personal places and provides a privacy-safe finder service, so willing friends can always be found.
My Festyvent is the place where you can share themed photos and interactive postcards via twitter, facebook, Instagram and email.
There is also a Photo-booth camera where you can take photos from within the app and post direct to social media.
Lastly festival and event organisers can send you information via the built in notification service and you may also receive messages such as offers or promotions when you are near locations that have iBeacons.
To access some of the above features you will need Internet connectivity and be asked to register for an account or sign in using Facebook or Twitter and give permission for storing your ID on our servers.
To enable Find-a-Friend to work, you will need to allow the app to access your Contacts as well as location when running in the background.
Continued use of location services running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. The Festyvent App has been designed to minimise the impact on your battery life and in most cases will be unnoticeable, but results may vary based on network conditions and usage.
Bluetooth is used so your app can inform you of offers when near key locations at festivals and events that use iBeacons.
