Imagine sitting in a waiting room, in a bus or simply being bored at home. Everybody experiences it. Everybody is sometimes really bored, looking for something to do that would make time passing at least a bit faster. Luckily, there are many great iOS apps you can download to your iPhone or iPad and have some fun while having nothing else to do.

.

In this article, you will find a list of great apps that will help you do just that – have a little enjoyment or laughter whenever you can’t come up with a better thing to do or just want to pass some time.

.

Let’s get started.

.

9GAG

.

Do you like looking at funny pictures, animations and videos? You might have already stumbled upon a website or an app called 9GAG. You can visit this endless source of fun from the browser, but the app makes it much easier and more convenient when accessing 9GAG from your iPhone or iPad.

.

Besides the pictures, GIFs and videos themselves, you can also become a part of a huge community of users that write sometimes hilarious and sometimes horrifying comments, communicate with other users and discover other new sources of fun.

.

Sudoku

.

Sudoku is a great logical game that will test your logical thinking and that might even make your brain better at doing certain tasks. At the first glance it might seem boring to many people, but in reality, solving a Sudoku puzzle can really put you into a “zone”, not realizing how much time has passed since you started filling in the numbers.

.

There are many great Sudoku apps in the App Store, so it was hard to pick the best one to recommend. We decided to go with this one, as it has over 130,000 ratings with an average score of 4.8. With such a big number of good reviews, it can’t really bad.

.

If you try it out and don’t like the aesthetics or the gameplay, just search for “Sudoku” in the App Store and you will get a list of tens of great apps for you to choose from.

DoubleU Casino: Vegas Slots

.

Many people enjoy playing slots and other casino games, even if just for fun and without real money being involved. A clear evidence can be found in the sheer number of free slot machine apps that can be found in the App Store.

.

We decided to pick DoubleU Casino: Vegas Slots out of all of them, because it’s one of the top rated slots apps in the store and offers more than 100 slots, which is quite a nice selection of games to enjoy.

.

DoubleU Casino: Vegas Slots and similar apps are free to download and play, but there are in-app purchases allowing you to purchase more of the virtual currency needed to play the games. Even though you can spend money to play, you can never get any of your real money back, which seems a bit strange when compared to classic casino games in which you can actually win something.

.

If you want to play casino games for free, with unlimited supply of “play money”, you might want to check out hundreds of free casino games to play in your browser. Many of them are optimized to work well on mobile devices and none of them will cost you anything, unless you decide to register at a casino and play them for real money. That seems like a much better deal than the free casino apps in the App Store, doesn’t it?

.

Duolingo

.

Why not start learning a new language when you don’t have anything else to do? You can do it using probably the most popular language-learning app in the world – Duolingo. It lets you study pretty much any language you want to and makes learning new words, phrases or concepts easy and playful.

.

It might not be the most effective way to learn a new language, however, it’s definitely better than sitting around and doing nothing. The great thing about Duolingo is the fact that the individual exercises are very short, so you just need a couple of minutes to finish one of them. If you do it every time you have few minutes to spare, you will soon be able to understand at least something in the new language.

.

Candy Crush Saga

.

This list definitely wouldn’t be complete without the last app in it – the hugely popular Candy Crush Saga. This amazingly powerful time-waster can literally kill your productivity, but it can also be great whenever you simply don’t know what to do with yourself.

.

Move around the pieces of candy to match at least three of the same symbols over and over again, unlocking new levels and moving forward in this magical world. Just be sure to keep it under control and stay away from in-app purchases. Those can suck your wallet dry
