Facebook Posts Enhanced for Endomondo Fitness iPhone Users

Facebook Timeline posts of fitness fans using the popular Endomondo Sports Tracker mobile app will become even more visual, engaging and fun starting this week with the release of an Endomondo update for iPhone, Android and BB10 users.

In response to user requests, Endomondo worked to enhance the social nature of the fitness tracking app used by more than 15 million people worldwide.  From the smartphone app, Endomondo users will now be able to add photos to the post and tag friends that participated in the physical activity when sharing workouts to Facebook.  Of course, these tags, photos and status messages will also be visible in the user’s News Feed at Endomondo.com.

Mette Lykke, co-founder of Endomondo, said the new functions were devised to further engage those within a person’s social network so they take an interest in physical pursuits and get energized about becoming fit. She noted that GPS-enabled smartphones running Endomondo can become a personal trainer and social motivator capable of tracking workouts, analyzing performance, and can aid in the discovery of new activities and insights into fitness so people become and stay active. But Endomondo stands apart from other activity tracking apps in its strong focus on social interaction; and helps users connect with like-minded people and encourages the sharing of experiences and support in achieving collective goals. Users can send friends real-time pep talks while they exercise, compete against friends for fun, challenge co-workers, and share it all on Facebook or across Endomondo’s social fitness network.
