Apple offering iTunes credit for those who recently purchased iWork, iMovie, or iPhoto

If you bought iWork, iMovie, or iPhoto apps after the 1st of September you were probably quite annoyed when Apple decided to give them away free of charge for those buying an eligible iOS device.

Apple is trying to rectify the situation by giving those customers iTunes credit equal to the cost of the apps they purchased. The iTunes credit has no restrictions on usage; it can be used against any content in the store, be it apps, music, or an iBook.

These apps weren’t incredibly expensive but weren’t cheap either: Pages, Keynote, and Numbers all cost $10 each while iMovie and iPhoto cost $5 each. That means that a new iOS device purchaser today will receive $40 in free software.

These apps are very good as well; they bring a great office suite to the iPad and make it more appealing to businesses. Of course some might argue that they're not as good as MS Office but for general users the apps are perfectly adequate. These apps are also available on Macs and through web browsers since the release of iWork on iCloud, making it an easy way to edit documents previously made on your computer.
