Logitech releases iOS 7 gaming controller

Logitech has unveiled the Powershell game controller designed for the iPhone 5, 5S, 5C and 5th generation iPod touch. It goes on either side of your device and has a D-Pad, shoulder button, and face buttons (Y, X, B and A). It doesn’t have analog sticks, but that might be because they’re not supported in many iOS games.

The device will be compatible with any of the aforementioned phones provided they’re running iOS 7 and can be used by any games that are programmed with support for physical controllers. Some great examples include Asphalt 8 (that great-looking racing game) and Bastion (a fun adventure game with a brilliant narrator).

One great feature it has is a battery built in: 1500mAh. That’ll effectively double the battery life of your iOS device, so you won’t have to worry about charging your device on journeys. It’s also useful since it connects through the lightning port so there’s no way to charge your phone while playing.

It’ll cost $99.99 and will be available before the holiday all across the country. It’s already on sale in Apple’s retail stores.
