Apple ID Two-Factor verification expanding

Apple has now rolled out its two-step verification in several new countries. These new locations include France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, and Canada. This new technology is designed to help make purchasing or logging into your Apple ID account more secure. When you try to login or make a purchase, Apple will send a verification code to one of your other devices. You then enter this code into the appropriate dialog box and you’ll be allowed to continue.

This method replaces the usual standard security questions and is arguably more secure since it can’t be socially engineered around. Apple first introduced this technology to users in the U.S., the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland.

Google also does a similar technology, where it’ll get you to enter a security code sent to your phone, once you’ve tried to login on a new device. It has gotten a lot of praise from security experts. Likewise, similar methods are in place for banks across the world, although they usually rely on a specialized device that generates the code.
