Images of iPhone 6 chassis and manufacturing molds leaked

On Chinese microblogging site Weibo, a set of images claiming to be manufacturing molds and chassis sketches of the upcoming iPhone 6 have appeared. The photos are thought to have come from a Foxconn factory. Foxconn works extensively with Apple to produce Apple devices, so it’s completely believable that such molds and sketches exist in their factories.

We’ve starting seeing a lot of leaks regarding the design of the iPhone 6. Last month a set of images showed design drawings for 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models. We then saw a photo showing cases designed for the new iPhone 6 that followed those design drawings. However the cases images don’t give much validity to the design drawings, since case manufacturers often try and produce cases ahead of time based off the same rumors and leaks, as we all know.

It’s expected that we’ll see two iPhone 6 devices launched this year. The first will be the 4.7” device, designed to compete with the large-screened Android flagships. The second will be the 5.5” device that will compete with phablets like the Galaxy Note range.
