On Tuesday, a federal appeals court threw out a jury order that required Apple to pay CirnetX Holding Corp. $368.2 million in damages for infringing on four patents. Shares for the company plunged to as low as 59 cents. The U.S. Federal Circuit Court of Appeal ordered a new trill, and said the damages award was based on defective jury instructions.
Since November 2012, Apple has been appealing, and a jury found that the company infringed on patents for VPN technology. The company has been doing so since November 2012; in addition, the judges said that they look forward to fighting the other issues.
