This developer is so good, he turned down a job with Apple

Last week, a teenager named John Meyer dropped out of school in order too work full-time on his start-up tech company named Fresco News. The 19-year-old was attending NYYU, where his mother works. At first, his parents weren’t too pleased but eventually they realized he’s a very successful computer programmer; he has written apps since his first year of high school. Since his sophomore year of high school, he’s been making money at it. In fact, he’s making so much money writing apps for the iPhone that during his first year of collage, he paid to live alone, paid tuition, and was financing Fresco. He’s written approximately 40 apps.

His latest app, Perfect Shot, was downloaded by users 60,000 times in the first four days. That grabbed the attention of Apple, which offered him a job. He turned it down. He’s aware that Apple interns make almost $6000 a month, that means nothing to him. He said he gets emails from recruiters all the time, but wants to be an entrepreneur right now. Maybe later, he’ll go back to college, but for now he likes what he’s doing.
