Samsung Mobile took a poke at Apple over the “Bendgate” issue. On Thursday, Samsung tweeted a photo of the new Galaxy Note Edge; the photo included a caption that said “Curved. Note bent.” The new curved smartphone has a 5.6-inch screen and will be released in mi-October. This is hardly the first Samsung ad that has mocked Apple: commercials for the Galaxy S II, Galaxy S3, and the Note 4 all slammed Apple.
Samsung wasn’t the only competitor to join in on the “Bendgate” bandwagon: LG USA Mobile also tweeted, saying, “Our phone doesn’t bend, it flexes…on purpose. #bendgate.” Nokia Germany and HTC USA got in on the fun, with tweets like “Designed to withstand the most demanding environments. Like your pockets. #HTCOneM8” (HTC USA) and “Will it Bend?” (Nokia Germany). Tech companies weren’t the only ones, either: even Heineken got involved with a tweet that said, “Dear Apple…#BendGate" and an image that said “No worries…It happens to us all the time.” KitKat tweeted “We don’t bend, we #break.” Pringles tweeted “Bends rule! #bendgate #hyperbolicparabaloid.”
