After days of rumors and speculation, Apple completely ignored the United Kingdom regarding Black Friday. Many analysts thought Apple was just keeping its secrets in order to create a build-up, but they were wrong. Last year, iPods, MacBook Airs, and iPads were all discounted in the UK. This year, the Apple site didn’t update from the World Aids Day. The United States, comparatively, got deals where buyers got iTunes gift cards. They got $50 gift cards with the purchase of iPads or iPhones, $100 gift cards with the purchase of a laptop or iMac, and $25 gift cards with the purchase of an iPod Nano, iPot touch, or Apple TV. PC Advisor said Apple threw “a curve ball by not offering UK consumers any special deals.” For those in the UK, the only way to get deals was through resellers. Albion, Stormfront, and KRCS all offered deals on Apple items. PayPal also offered a 20 percent off iTunes credit. Tesco and John Lewis stores also had deals.
