Apple’s budget iPhone will still have 4” display

It appears that the cheaper version of the iPhone will have the same sized screen as the iPhone 5 although it might use lower quality display technologies. This is a change from previous rumors that suggested the device would actually have a larger 4.5” display.

The new, cheaper iPhone will probably be made out of super-thin plastic mixed with some glass fiber. This will make it stronger, thinner and lighter than the average smartphone plastic casing, but will still look a little less premium than the iPhone 5. The thickness of the case will be between 0.4 and 0.6 millimeters. The plastic design will also make it easier for the device to come in different colors, probably between four and six options. This will help the device appeal to younger consumers in the United States, another market the company is losing ground in to cheaper Android handsets.

The cheaper iPhone won’t be the only iPhone that’s getting released by Apple this year – we can also expect an iPhone 5S, as we do every year. The new premium iPhone will include features like a fingerprint sensor to boost security and maybe a few new features to the Passbook app.
