Apple has plans to push its brand with 500 Apple Stores in India

Apple has decided to push its brand in India with 500 Apple Stores. The phone market in that country is growing quicklime and Apple wants to get its foothold while the going is good. The tech giant has been in India since 2011, but hasn’t been a main brand there like in other markets. Samsung currently dominates the Indian market. According to a top company source, “All this will change now. The company is finalizing plans to become a serious player in India, which is being seen as a strategic and one of the most promising markets globally.” In the year ending September 2014, Apple sold around a million phones and expects the volume to to top three million in the next year. Right now, Apple sells through two distributors: Ingram and Redington, who then supply the products to multi-product trade channels, regional distributors, Apple Authorized Re-seller outlets, and Apple Premium Re-seller stores.
