Apple Pay: big new launch plans

Apple Pay quickly became popular when it was launched in the U.S. on iPhone 6 and 6 Plus devices. It has so far surpassed similar mobile payment solutions, even ones that have been available for years. The company doesn’t want to keep Apple Pay in the United States, and will extend to other countries and regions in the world, including Europe. A job listing inadvertently announces that Apple Pay in Europe will be launched soon. Apple also said it will launch the payment system in China, but it isn’t clear at this time when other countries will get the service. Eventually it will be available in Europe, India, the Middle East, and Africa. According to the job listing:

The new London-based Apple Pay team will work to drive the roll-out of this technology across EMEIA by working with a variety of internal and external partners, including teams in the US where the product will first launch and the EMEIA organization, as well as Issuers, payment networks and merchants across Europe.

The iPad 2 also has Apple Pay built in, but it is limited to online purchases only. Older iPhone models will get support once the Apple Watch comes out in early 2015.
