Research: People are losing interest in the Apple Watch

You would think that since they announced the Apple Watch at the last big product launch that people would be increasingly excited for the wearable device. As we come ever-closer to release (set for early 2015), you might also think that people would be reaching a fever-pitch by now. However, that’s not the case. Piper Jaffray performed a survey asking 968 iPhone owners if they would consider buying an Apple Watch. Only seven percent said they’d buy it. That is down from the eight percent who said they would in September when the watch was first announced. The analyst who deals with Apple the most said that most people are going on a “wait and see” basis to the first version of the watch. The main thing is that it is going to be expensive, and no one is certain how buggy the first version will be. Once the thing comes out and people get to see them work, interest might go up. Until then, people ware more likely to be more reserved.
