Apple, Google, and other companies settle antitrust lawsuit

Four companies including Apple have agreed to pay a total of $415 million to close an antitrust class action lawsuit by plaintiffs who say the companies conspired to avoid poaching of employees. Plaintiffs accused Google, Apple, Adobe Systems, and Intel Corp in the 2011 lawsuit. The suit outlined limited job mobility and restrictive salaries. A United States judge rejected a previous offer in 2013 as being too low; this deal is $90.5 million more. Judge Lucy Koh says that there was more than enough evidence to prove antitrust violations and that the cases might end up with judgments in the form of more than $9 billion if the matters went to jury.
