Analysts say the most demand will be for the steel and aluminum watches, costing $349 and $549, but there will be a lot of appeal for the higher-end ones, too. Horace Dediu from Asymco, for example, says we may see a lot of sales of the gold Apple Watch. He says China, especially, has a tradition of exuberant gift-giving, and that buyers will be lining up to purchase the most expensive version. According to Dediu, people will be carrying tens of thousands in cash to stores in order to buy the watch.
Furthermore, the analyst says that Apple could make as much as 90 percent profit on the $10,000 watch. He says that the demand for a gold watch is much higher than we think, and that the company will likely be permanently out of stock.
