Although there are a lot of rich people who would have no problem paying the full price, almost 100 percent of the Apple Watches ordered on April 10 were for the less expensive versions.
For anyone who wants a gold Apple Watch but doesn’t have the money to shell out for it, at least two companies have started offering gold-plating services for the Apple Watch starting at $399. One company is charging $3,500 to have the entire watch plated in 24-karat yellow gold, 18-karat white gold, or 18-karat rose gold.
