Apple looking for consumers to cut the cable cord

For the last few years, it feels like we've heard everything possible about an Apple TV. From streaming content, to TV size, to paid programming, etc. If you are like me, then you are getting tired of all the potential features and you just want to see the TV actually come out. Well, the latest news is that the Apple TV could be delayed even further.

According to a report by ReCode.net, Apple is in discussions with broadcast TV stations in regards to broadcasting local TV programming. In other words, they want access to stations like NBC, ABC, and CBS. However, these large companies don't own all of the local stations, which means that negotiations with individual stations could delay an Apple TV release even further.

Apple is hoping to carve a niche of paid content that includes local programming with local commercials. It's a potential win-win situation for everyone involved. Well, except for the customers who have had their hopes up for the last year or two, only to be let down time and time again with further announcements of delays.

And, of course, Apple is declining to comment on this matter.
