The Apple Watch and messaging

Sure, you’ll be able to see notifications of messages, breaking news stories, fitness goals, and bank account changes, but is it going to be usable to send messages? At only 42 mm, the size of the Watch has been and continues to be a major problem for developers. Messaging apps and designers are especially hard-hit, because they have to work around the super small size while not restricting the ability to message back. The main issue is the lack of screen size or keyboard. So will any developers or designers actually go forward with it?

Of course, a person could always pull out his or her iPhone to respond. The point of the Watch isn’t to get rid of the iPhone, but to reduce the frequency of having to pull it out of pocket or purse. If you receive a message that you absolutely have to respond to, and you don’t like the options offered by an Apple Watch, then get out your iPhone and do it!
