The latest iTunes version is a missed opportunity

When Apple released the new Apple Music service, it was done at the same time of the updated iTunes app. Besides the bugs that are being reported, there’s a bigger complaint: iTunes needed an overhaul, not just more features added.

Starting Wednesday, the day after the new version came out, complaints started rolling in. Mismatched song titles, album art, and artist names headed the charge. According to a report by engadget, reviewers told readers to wait to update iTunes.

On top of the aforementioned issues, there are a lot of gaps. The Apple Music app is confusing, and there’s nothing in iTunes that tells users that an album they want to buy is part of their subscription.

It’s going to take a while for Apple to get all the wrinkles out, but we hope it’s sooner rather than later.
