First impressions of Apple Music

When it comes to Apple Music, setup is pretty easy. Once a user downloads and installs iOS 8.4, it’s pretty straightforward. The included Music app is updated, and you’ll see prompts to start the free three-month trial. You’ll see a bunch of different genres, which you will be asked to tap on to indicate the ones you like or love. You’ll go through the same thing with artists. According to a report by The Star, a new user will get shown playlists based on artists, in addition to some bands and albums users indicate they “love.”

If you’ve been using a streaming music service lately you’ll know how Apple Music works. It’s a bit different because your music from iTunes is held in a folder called My Music. You can create a playlist from music you own or music you’ve streamed.

When it comes to Beats 1, it seems pretty decent so far, although it does appear to be an ad for Apple Music. Since this is free it’s not likely we’ll ever see and end to that.
