Chitika released a report on Friday showing that on its mobile ad network, iOS 7 accounted for 31.7 percent of the ads just 48 hours after release. Chitika showed similar data from a year ago with iOS 6 which saw 24.7 percent adoption after 48 hours. This report does have a few issues through: the most ad views will come from the most active smartphone users. And of course the most active smartphone users will update the first. It’ll also be inflated by people who’ve just updated trying out their apps.
The latest version of iOS brings a radically different interface to make it look fresher. There are also a few new features like peer-to-peer file sharing via AirDrop and the ability to block calls, texts, and FaceTime from certain numbers.
The rollout of iOS 7 has been relatively smooth. There’s been a few bugs appearing but these aren’t major. However if you’re running older hardware you should take note: you won’t get a lot of the new features (but you’ll get the new design) and it might slow down your device. Any iPhone from 4S upwards should be alright.
