The Early Edition 2 app review: become your own editor with this powerful up-to-the-minute newspaper 2021

The Early Edition 2 is a custom newspaper app designed to provide you with everything you could possibly need to stay up-to-date with the latest happenings in your local area and the global community as a whole.

This is definitely one of the more impressive customized news feed apps I’ve come across for the iPad.

The interface is incredibly well-designed with an intuitive layout and a very aesthetic design. Being able to view content online thanks to caching makes for some enjoyable reading even when you’re out and about and can’t connect to a network.

Hot Off the Press

One of the things that I first found striking when I first started using The Early Edition 2 is the way in which the content is laid-out.

There is a very believable column-based layout which really gives the feeling of actually reading a newspaper, and being able to turn the pages by swiping with your finger or tapping the edge of a page only serves to enhance the effect further.

I’m very glad to see that this app can be synced up with Feedly as this makes it far easier to keep track of any articles that you've read online as well as on your iPad, so you don’t need to worry if you don’t have Reader.

Gorgeous Streamlined Newspaper Views

The developer has really made a significant number of great improvements to The Early Edition 2 and one of the more prominent changes is in the main newspaper view which has been completely stripped of any unnecessary clutter.

This means that regardless of whether you prefer landscape or portrait orientation, your view of the news will be completely free of navigation buttons and other needless features, so you can swipe or tap your way through each page without having to dodge buttons here there and everywhere.

You’ll also be very pleased to know that The Early Edition 2 features a heavy amount of sharing capabilities, enabling you to share content with friends and family online via Twitter, Facebook, Instapaper, Readability, Read It Later, Delicious, Evernote, and Pinboard.

Final Words

The developer really has done an awesome job with The Early Edition 2 and has transformed this app into a highly formidable force in the App Store. This is a fantastic news app which definitely receives a very strong recommendation from me!
