uHear app review: assess your hearing with three different auditory tests

Reviews

Introduction

The idea that loss of hearing only affects old people and that it is simply a sign of aging is an old myth which is simply not true. With this app you can accurately test your auditory capabilities with three distinct tests that will assess your hearing in a variety of different ways.

I know that hearing loss runs in my family and all jokes aside, it is definitely a serious issue which can quickly turn from a minor inconvenience into a seriously debilitating problem. I would definitely recommend taking a few minutes to run through the tests in uHear.

Sorry, What?

I really like the way you can get straight down to business with this app rather than having to fill in details and register for an account. The first thing you’ll see upon starting up uHear is the main Measure section which includes the three tests that form the core of this app as a whole.

The Hearing Sensitivity test will assess what he quietest sound is that you can hear, while the Speech in Noise test will evaluate how well you can distinguish between different sounds while in a noisy environment.

The third test is a Questionnaire which contains 12 multiple choice questions that you can use to measure how well you can hear in common daily situations. All three of these tests take maybe one or two minutes each and once you’re done you can move on to the Results section.

Come Again?

One thing I really like about the tests is that not only are you going to receive the results, you can also read detailed explanations of what each aspect spells out for your hearing as a whole so that you can really make an informed decision about whether or not you may require a hearing aid.

The Learn section is very useful as it contains some Healthy Hearing Tips to help you protect your ears as well as Healthy Hearing Myths. There is also a whole host of other facts so that you can dispel any myths from your mind and really approach the issue of hearing loss from a more educated standpoint.

All in all, I think this is a very important app and it has been designed very well with a great-looking interface and a wide array of invaluable information that I think will prove to be very useful to you indeed.
