With live radar map imaging, severe weather warnings, and exclusive video content from the 6abc studios, this app is sure to provide everything you need to make an accurate assessment of impending weather conditions for the coming days.
There is definitely some very good looking radar map imagery in 6abc StormTracker and being able to share content with others via social networking sites is always a great bonus I’m happy to see.
This is a pretty decent weather forecasting app which should definitely suit those of you who prefer a more visual approach rather than simple text and numbers.
When you first start using this app you’ll probably want to tap the Current Location button as this will cause 6abc StormTracker to use your device’s integrated GPS in order to determine your location and provide weather reports for your local area.
From here, you’ll be given the choice of Live Radar view, 7-day forecasting, and hourly forecasting.
Live Radar is great for getting a visual representation of the weather conditions, and you can choose from a few different Severe Weather Overlays, including Thunderstorms and Tornadoes, Hurricane and Tropical Tracks, Snow, Wind, and Fire.
You’ll be pleased to know that you can also share radar maps with friends online via Facebook, Twitter, and email, and this is great for keeping your loved ones one step ahead of any nasty storms that might be heading their way.
The 7-Day and Hourly forecast views are both fairly similar in format, with the former providing high and low temperatures and humidity, and the latter offering a little more detail in the form of an hour-by-hour breakdown of temperature, wind speed and direction, and humidity.
In addition to the weather forecasting features, this app also contains a Severe Weather Outlook section which provides a three-day Convective Outlook from the National Weather Service (NWS) Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma.
What’s more, there is a ton of live streaming and archived video content from the 6abc studios, as well as reports for School Closings and live feeds from the 6abc Facebook and Twitter pages. Needless to say, there is plenty of content in 6abc StormTracker to satisfy even the fussiest of meteorologists!
6abc StormTracker is pretty much as good as they come in the Weather genre of the App Store, so if you’re looking for an accurate and reliable source of meteorological reports then you certainly can’t go wrong with this great app.
