Introduction

If you live in Burlington, Vermont and are in need of a weather forecasting app that you can really depend upon for accurate and detailed reports, then look no further than WCAX Wx to provide you with all the information you need across a 10-day timeframe.

This is a pretty standard weather app which uses a very common interface style that is found throughout other apps within the Weather category of the App Store.

Although the developer receives no brownie points from me for originality, it certainly has done a good job of piecing together a solid development which runs perfectly.

Detailed Weather Forecasting for the Coming Week

The first thing you’ll want to do when you first start using this app is tap on the house icon at the top right-hand corner of the screen. This will enable you to specify your current location by using your device’s integrated GPS so that you can immediately start receiving weather updates for your local area.

The main Map section is essentially the home screen of WCAX Wx, displaying an overview of the weather for yesterday, today, and tomorrow, in addition to a live animated radar map which you can check out if you want to see the progression of weather fronts across Vermont.

The 10-Day Forecast provides a great overview of the weather for the coming week or so, and by tapping on one of the days you’ll be able to expand the view to access further information, such as high and low temperatures, chance of precipitation, UV Index, and much more.

Videos, Severe Weather Alerts, and More

If you’re in need of a little more detail then you’ll definitely want to see the Hourly section as this provides an hour-by-hour breakdown of the weather for the current day, displaying basic information such as variances in temperature, wind speed and direction, and the likelihood of precipitation.

In addition to the standard weather forecasting functionality of this app, you’ll also be able to receive severe weather notifications if there should happen to be a particularly nasty storm headed for your area.

What’s more, being able to save multiple locations means that you can also keep an eye on loved ones who live out of town.
