Few things are more spectacular than the sight of a sunrise or sunset under the right conditions, and I think that The Sun - Rise and Fall does a great job of pinpointing exactly when you’ll need to go outside and marvel at the beauty.

Furthermore, those of you who enjoy rising and going to bed in tune with the sun will benefit greatly from this app as it also shows the variances in the sunrise and sunset times for the coming week and month.

The Sun'll Come Up Tomorrow

When you first start using this app you’ll want to make sure that it is using your current location so that the timings are accurate. This can easily be achieved by tapping the map icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen to bring up a map view of your area.

Using your device’s integrated GPS means that you can tap and hold on the map pin to drag it around and get the utmost accuracy. You can also ensure absolute precision thanks to the interface which clearly displays your current longitude and latitude.

Once you’ve got the location as accurate as you want it to be, you’ll want to go back to the main rise and fall screen as this is where you’ll be able to see the timing information you’re after. On the left is the sunrise time and on the right is the sunset time, and you can also see the Sun Uptime in hours and minutes underneath these times.

I’m very impressed by the amount of data collated by this app because you can even use the sliders at the top of the screen to change the date, and view past and present sunrise and sunset times for as far back as 1970 and as far into the future as 2037!

Make sure you also tap the More button at the bottom of the sliders as this will show you the variances in the sunrise and sunset times, displayed in minutes for the previous month and week, as well as the coming week and month.
