This is a wonderfully creative and rather amusing little game which enables you to come up with some very entertaining stories with your friends online. You take turns writing a few words each, which is guaranteed to produce some hilarious results!

Being quite the creative spirit myself, I think this is a very good idea for an app and even before I started using it I could tell that I was going to be in for a lot of fun.

When you first start playing Friend Fiction, you’ll notice that you can register for the service by using your Facebook account.

I’m always very pleased to see this option because it really shows that the developer has put some thought into making things just that little bit more convenient for users, and it definitely leaves a positive first impression.

Once you’re all set up, you’ll reach the Stories in Progress screen, but of course you won’t have any in progress just yet so you’ll want to tap where required to get started.

The next screen will enable you to create a new game by choosing your topic, entering a title, and then inviting up to three of your friends to start writing with you. You can invite players via Facebook, email, or by typing in their Friend Fiction username directly.

 

Collaborate With Your Friends

If you feel as if you’re somewhat lacking in the inspiration department then you might like to go back to the Stories in Progress page and tap the book icon at the bottom of the screen. This will present you with the Public Library which contains completed stories by other players.

There are definitely some very funny tales in here, and you can even vote stories up and down depending on how much you like them, so this should provide some incentive for you and your friends to try and come up with some popular creations.

There is also a Leaderboard section where Authors are ranked based on the number of votes they’ve received, so you’d better make yourself a coffee, sit down, and prepare to write some super literature if you’re going to become the best of the best!

Final Words

I’m a little disappointed by the absence of a feature enabling you to invite people with random people because the number of Facebook friends I have playing this game is quite minimal and it would be great to be able to write loads of stories at once!

Besides that minor flaw, Friend Fiction is a great app which I would definitely recommend checking out.
