'OnLive Desktop' iPad App Delivers Seamless Cloud Access to Microsoft Office
Finally, you can view AND edit Word, Excel, and Powerpoint documents on the iPad with the super cool OnLive Desktop app. You can also view PDFs using Adobe Reader, and sync music and movies with Windows Media. After you edit or create an Office document on your iPad and save it, OnLive automatically and quickly syncs to the cloud service. The free service provides 2 GB of storage, and you can upload documents from your PC via the OnLive website.
OnLive Desktop also comes with the “Windows Touch Pack” including three original games and Surface Collage, a photo collage program of questionable value. For $4.99/month you can use fast cloud service web-browsing, and OnLive’s website advertises an upcoming 50 GB account for $9.99. Between the price and the services provided, however, the free app is by far the best.

The Touch Pack feature doesn’t add anything useful to OnLive, and it’s a little annoying that OnLive comes with an Internet Explorer icon, but any attempt at browsing is met with the error message explaining that the “Standard service does not support general Web browsing.”
Features:
• View, edit & create documents using Microsoft® Office Word, Excel & PowerPoint
• Easily transfer files between OnLive Desktop and other devices
• Experience high-performance, instant-response PC applications
• Interact with lag-free animation and video
Still, in terms of functionality, OnLive is a wonderful improvement over the OneNote for iPad app. Anything you can do in Powerpoint, Word, or Excel on your PC, you can now do on your iPad. Hopefully OnLive will add OneNote to their cloud service.
