Supiki English Conversation Speaking Practice app review: a fun way to learn conversational English

Reviews

Introduction

If you know anything about learning a new language, conversational English is the hardest to learn. We have so much slang and so many contractions that learning it can be daunting, but the Supiki English Conversation Speaking Practice app helps by creating random conversational situations to help you master everyday interactions.

By utilizing a fun, game-based interface, Supiki could easily become the standard in learning conversational English.

Just Sitting In A Coffee Shop

The Supiki English Conversation Speaking Practice app works by providing the user with everyday situations in which a conversation will take place. Each one is something every one of us will run into at some point in our lives. By utilizing your microphone, headphones, and/or speakers, you interact with the apps created persona and have a basic conversation.

Best iphone and ipad apps

The opening level starts in a coffee shop and a man asks to share your table. From the opening question of "Can I join you?" until the end, it's very engaging and the app will take your responses to each question and grade you.

This is a welcome difference from many language-teaching apps out there. You'll gain a better knowledge of where your skills are lacking and how you need to improve by the app offering suggestions, and even the ability to listen back to your responses to evaluate where you could do better.

A Great Learning Curve

Although Supiki is heavily game-based, the learning curve isn't jumping 10 times further with each lesson. Instead it builds slowly, using your grade on the past level and taking that into account as you progress.

The game-based factor of this app definitely increases the fun in using Supiki. The graphics are cute and give you a great background where the conversation is taking place, right down to the cup and dishes clinking and background chatter. Supiki completely immerses you in the environment where each lesson is taking place. This gives you a feeling more of the environment than rather an instructional lesson.

Final Thoughts

If you are a new student to English and tired from your standard school lessons then Supiki English Conversation Speaking Practice is definitely for you. Take a break from your proper lessons, and take the time to learn English in the way that it's spoken day-to-day. This is possibly the best conversational app I have seen thus far.

I hope that the developers of Supiki add more modules for other languages in the future.
