When you first start using x2yMorph you will immediately begin to see the amount of thought that has gone into its creation.

Rather than simply slapping two photos together and hoping for the best, the developer has really taken the time to add in a few features that ensure you’ll get the best results possible.

The easiest way for me to explain how this works is to include an excerpt from the Introduction section of the app, which states:

“To make this transformation as smooth and realistic as possible, you define corresponding points on the two original images (for example, on eyes, nose and lips of face images). After you have defined a few such points on each of the two original images, x2yMorph calculates an intermediate image at any stage that you select using a slider, interactively.”

You’ll be pleased to know that you can also transform your morph into a movie loop and save it as a series of still images and a short movie clip in your Photo Library. I think this is a very cool feature, and I’m stunned by the quality of the results I’ve managed to achieve so far.

Defining corresponding points on the images and using the slider to adjust the intermediate images makes a world of difference in creating a decent finished product, and if you put a few extra minutes into your creations you can really come up with some awesome morphs. Morphsome!

Final Words

I’m really hoping that I’ve done x2yMorph justice with what I’ve said so far, but I definitely think it has to be seen to be believed.

I’ve used quite a few image editing apps, and it’s not exactly common that I come across one that, to put it simply, works so darned well!
