Introduction
If you’re sick and tired of fumbling around for cash and always having to endure the awkward moment when your tip isn’t quite what the driver had hoped for, then this is the app for you. It enables you to pay for your ride upfront so you can save time (and face) when you arrive at your destination.
The best iPhone apps for travel
While I don’t live anywhere near New York City, I can definitely appreciate the value of having a service such as this, especially in such a built-up urban area where taxis are commonplace and are used so frequently.
This is an incredibly well-developed app which looks great and runs very smoothly, so it definitely receives a very strong recommendation from me.
New York, New York
When you first start using Way2ride, you’ll be prompted to create a user account through which all of your transactions will take place.

I’m a little disappointed to see that you can’t sign up by using your Facebook account, although I think this is probably in the interest of security, especially when you consider that you’ll be submitting your credit card details over the network.
Once you’re all set up, it’s time to start hailing a ride, which can be done with a single tap of your finger.
Hail a Taxi With a Single Tap
I really can’t emphasize enough how useful this app will be if you frequently use taxis in the Big Apple. You can save all of your receipts from your rides, with them also being available for viewing on the developer website.

All of your receipts also contain additional information such as a map of your route, tags, and other relevant details that you might want to tack on for your own financial records.
Perhaps my favorite feature of this app is the I Lost Something button which you can tap if you should happen to leave some of your belongings in the taxi. If this happens, the driver will be contacted so that you can get your stuff back in due course.
Pros and Cons

Final Words
The New Yorkers amongst you who love to jet around the city in a flash of yellow will have an absolute field day with Way2ride.
I love the addition of the receipt facilities, and being able to reclaim your lost items when you leave them in a taxi is something that I really think speaks volumes to the amount of thought that the developer has put into designing a fully comprehensive app.
