New and Improved

This app now offers a new design that has been enhanced so you can expect even better performance. This all new design is available for iOS 7 users. Don't worry, even if you don’t have iOS 7 you can still download an older version of the app. The goal of this app is to give users a quick, easy, and fun way to learn about the requirements and cultivation of a wide variety of plants and flowers. The app is interesting, helpful, and even fun.

When you launch the app you are instantly taken to the menu of plants and flowers that are organized alphabetically. If you’d rather, you can search for a particular item in the search bar. I like scrolling through all the plants because this is a great way to find and learn about ones you might not have considered.

Using the App

In the menu of plants/flowers you will see the name of the item, its water and light requirements, whether it is an annual or perennial, and its bloom time. From here you can tap on the flower and learn more about it. You are able to print from the app, send the information by email, or share it by Facebook and Twitter.

I have to say the photos of the plants and flowers are absolutely beautiful and very important when you're gardening. You want to know how an item will look so this is a great way to visualize how it would work in your garden.

Because your garden is largely based on your climate I think it’s great that the main menu shows you a quick snapshot of its light, water, and bloom time. If these don’t match what you have then you know to keep searching.

There is also the ability to view plants by common name, family, botanical name, and bloom time.
