As soon as you start the app you’re greeted by classic Christmas songs played in high-quality audio, and the Advent calendar itself features 25 unique games and activities that your kids will be eager to play each morning in the run up to the big day.

When you first start using Binny's Advent Calendar 2013, your ears will be treated to some wonderfully festive music while your eyes feast upon the beautifully illustrated snow-covered street scene.

Within the scene you’ll see various furry characters and a string of love hearts running along the top, with each one representing a single day in the run up to Christmas. As each day goes by, another heart will be unlocked so that you can tap it and access the fun that is hiding within.

One thing that I really like about this app is that the featured music is largely of a very traditional theme, with well-known carols and crooners thrown in to really set the mood and get you and your family in the spirit of the holidays.

 

Elves, Snowmen, and Jetpacks?

The games included vary greatly, with one of them involving simply tapping snowmen to make them sing lines from “Frosty the Snowman,” and another having you take the role of an elf wearing a jetpack who is helping Santa load presents into his sleigh.

The jetpack-wearing elf game also enables you to share a screenshot of the game with your friends and family via email, so you can clearly see that there are plenty of features beyond simply tapping a window on an Advent calendar!
