Best iPad Apps for Hairstylists
Are you a hairstylist who wants to keep track of clients, appointments, services, and tips – simply and quickly – without having to input time-consuming data?
If so, there are a few hairstylist apps on the market specifically geared to this profession, to help you log all your data keeping your day virtually paperless.
MyChair
Price: $19.99
This app is quite expensive as apps go but has an 80% positive user rating of its latest version so for the cost, it appears to deliver.
Enabling you to keep track of clients, appointments and customer histories, this hairstylists diary defaults to 15-minute scheduling time slots – the only app on the iOS to do so.
You can keep track of referrals; custom manage clients by placing their data all in one file with the ability to sort-search for clients who have not visited for a while; gender search; send thank you emails and wish others happy birthday; send a text; and view your day's, week's, and month's calendar in your desired schedule outlook.
There are many more additional features this hairstylist app offers, so really worth reading the full spec to see if it suits your needs.
Personal Salon Assistant
Price: $99.99
Wow, for just under one hundred dollars there aren’t many apps in this price range today.
Its features are extensive as the price would suggest, with the obvious capability of saving appointments, formulas, photos, and notes for individual customers.
You can also import your list from your previous address book where they are all saved with the prefix “PSA”.
Not really sure that the price - which is about a quarter of the cost of an iPhone itself - is warranted, so check the latest user reviews.
It really depends on how much control you want your app to have.
The interface is beautifully laid-out with the front user menu vertically listing schedule, clients, register, formulation, services, products, settings and reports.
The day’s outlook for the diary is also very clearly laid out where the color-specific time slots help it easier to view.
Toca Hair Salon
Price: $1.99
OK, so this app isn’t really designed for dealing with your business but is in fact a fun little game for kids who get to run their own salon.
This could also be a great little way to keep kids distracted in the salon if you don’t mind them playing with your precious iPhone!
It may also be used on an iPod touch or iPad and the features are pretty addictive.
First off you get to choose from six different characters, where you can pretty much do anything from cutting and trimming to dyeing hair, and you get from 12 different colors from which to choose.
There are no time limits, up sells or in-app purchases needed to have access to all the tools.
The straight up $1.99 is the full app.
The characters are uniquely pictured with movement and sounds to accompany the blow dry and the hair styling with great themes like birthdays or Christmas.
