Does your dad have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch? If so, then you are no longer stuck for ideas on what to get your dad. If he’s a gadget freak, an app for dad might just be perfect!
Tom Tom
Price: $44.99
Not just for the US and Canada, but Ireland, the UK and many other countries, this satellite navigation map for GPS is perfect for driving around cities and for helping you to navigate around busy traffic jams and congested areas.
Otherwise, you won’t need a signal with this app as it can be used on the iPad or iPhone offline instructing you on how to get from A to B to C.
It consists of multiple features which are worth reading through yourself but to summarize here, its greatest strengths are that it’s firstly available on 3G/3GS/4/4S, iPad WiFi + 3G networks.
It announces street names which saves you time from having to look at the screen, which is a much safer way to navigate - especially if you're concentrating on trying to stay on the proper side of the road!
It’s available in English, Spanish, and French and is argued to be one of the best apps for listing the fastest routes with the clearest navigation experience.
That said, we're not quite sure why it needed to integrate with Facebook. Further recent user reviews suggest that if you have a previous version, when you upgrade previous routes may be wiped, so check with developers first.
The BBQ and Campfire Recipe Cookbook
Price: $4.99
Do you go out camping with the old man much or does he like to go fishing and spend time with nature and is generally an outdoors-kind-of-guy?
With this app you get a selection of recipes and dishes that you can view on the iPhone or iPad/ iPod touch that may make the evening's BBQ a different challenge.
This app does get mixed reviews so check latest updates before buying.
Oh My Golf HD
Price: $29.99
This could be a hit with many dads as golf is a globally popular sport.
This is a great golf app for learning to know your game better. It includes over 26,000 golf courses from around the world – but it may be worth checking with the developers before you buy to ensure your dad's course is on there.
With this app you record every golf shot, calculate your distance, and keep tabs on the score with up to four player scoreboards accessible.
It’s also a great way to visualize the course, its layout, the hidden bunkers up ahead, the wind speed, what club you might like and other additional features.
As of time of publication, there are currently not enough reviews to deliver feedback on their latest version.
