Finally the long awaited sequel to one of the most successful game/move crossovers is available for iPhone and iPad: the Angry Birds Star Wars II app. With all-new characters, powers, and a few minor tweaks to the gameplay, Angry Birds Star Wars II takes everything you loved about the first game to the next level.

All Of The Fun We Wanted From The Prequels
The Angry Birds Star Wars II app revolves around all the events from Episodes One through Three, beginning with the invasion and battle of Naboo. Thankfully all the Trade Federation debates have been stripped away and replaced with the fun, straight-to-the-point action we had hoped would happen in the films.

Now your sling shot resembles the warm glow of a lightsaber, but the same physics-based gameplay is still here. Like the previous title, each bird is based on one of the Saga’s characters each with its specific power. The difference is now you don’t have to wait to reach certain levels to unlock and use a new bird.
Although you start with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, you have the ability to use any of the other characters by simply tapping the Senate logo at the top of the screen. From there you have access to all of the Star Wars birds. Although each one has a limited amount of uses which can be increased as you progress through the game, it allows you to get the elusive three star rating we all crave.
Choose Your Path, Young Padawan
The other great addition to this title is that for the first time you can choose the path you wish to play the game. Choose the Force Powered Senate, or the “Pork Side” to take over the galaxy. This dark path allows you to follow Emperor Palapatine and utilize all of your favorite villains including Darth Maul, Jango Fett, General Grievous, and the newly crowned Lord Vader. This brings everything that made the first title a number one download, and adds a new twist.

Final Thoughts
Let's face it: we all love the Angry Birds series, and Angry Birds Star Wars took it to the next level. Now with the Angry Birds Star Wars II app for iPhone and iPad, the developers have surprised us all by adding a new dimension to an already extremely entertaining game. I was already excited for this app's release, but after a few brief moments of playing it I was blown away. I assumed it would be as good as the original. Not only is it as good, it's better. I wish we could all say the same about the Star Wars prequel films.
