Fitness Inspiration by Fitspo! app review: share inspirational photos, workouts, and meal plans with like-minded people

Reviews

Introduction

The new year is finally here and it’s time for all of you New Year's Resolutions people to make good on the promises you’ve been making to yourself through December! What better place to start than to get some “fitspiration” from this great community of like-minded individuals?

As you’ll see in the review below, I think that this is a great idea for an app, but it does seem to largely be an excuse to compile endless pictures of bikini models and “fitness chicks.”

I’m certainly not opposed to the idea of ogling women all day, but I would recommend that you take this app for a tentative test spin before going too in-depth with your profile. This will help you to determine if there really are people using the Fitspo service who you’d like to connect with.

Find a Little Fitspiration!

The first thing you’ll need to do when you first start up Fitness Inspiration by Fitspo! is to create a user account. Don’t worry though, because this can be done by using your Facebook account, so you should be up and running (or jogging, swimming, cycling…) within a moment or two.

Part of the registration process involves following five other users, and this is a great way of checking out what kind of people are on the Fitspo service, as well as determining the kind of categories that you’d like to follow.

Once you’ve completed the registration process, you’ll be taken to the What’s New section, which is essentially a compilation of the various users and categories that you’ve chosen to follow.

A Excuse to Oggle Young Ladies?

I must admit, although this is definitely a very well-developed app with a great concept behind it, almost 100 percent of the content I’ve seen so far on here has basically been skimpily-dressed “fitness chicks” in compromising positions!

I’m not sure if it’s because of the people I’ve chosen to follow or because I specified that I’m male, but I can see this kind of content being quite off-putting to a lot of women who are just looking for realistic motivation, rather than pictures impossibly-perfect Photoshopped models all over the place.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Share inspirational photos, workouts, and meal plans with like-minded people
  • Quick and easy registration by using your Facebook account
  • Invite friends to use Fitspo via Facebook, email, and your Contacts list

Cons

  • Although I was of two minds as to whether to put this in the Pros or Cons list, a large majority of the content appears to be scantily-clad women showing off their assets!

Final Words

I would suggest that you check out Fitness Inspiration by Fitspo! for yourself, because the developer’s stated intentions are awesome, that way you’ll be able to dig a little deeper and see if you like the look of what is on offer in this iPhone and iPad app.
