I often find much of the content in Medical apps to be lost on me; however, I do find much of human anatomy to be utterly fascinating, especially as it pertains to biomechanics in the context of exercise and general fitness. For more great apps like this one, check our list of the Best iPhone apps for Anatomy.

There are icons on the main home screen which you can tap to access sections such as Head, Upper and Lower Extremity, General Anatomy, and Trunk, and tapping the menu icon in the top left-hand corner of the screen provides access to a text-based list of the various chapters, covering such things as:

  • General Anatomy;
  • Viscera of the Thorax / Abdomen;

Upon selecting a particular image, you’ll be treated to a fully zoomable and moveable anatomy diagram, complete with labels that you can tap on to add your own personal notes.

I really like the way you can fully customize your view of the images by selecting which structures you’d like to see. So if you’re focused on the arteries and veins, you can toggle these on while hiding the nervous and musculoskeletal structures to get a much clearer view.

What’s more, you can also add any image to your Bookmarks list for quick and easy future reference, and you can even print images if you’d prefer a hardcopy that you can write notes on by hand.
