Reviews

Introduction

What we have here is an incredibly powerful app for iPhone and iPad that features all kinds of features, including a sample player, MPC, drum programmer, and much more, offering musicians, producers, and DJs alike the chance to conjure up some awesome sounds while on the go.

The best iPhone and iPad apps for musicians

Whenever I jump from reviewing free apps to paid ones, the difference in the quality and quantity of features on offer is almost always immediately apparent, and striking, to say the least.

This is very cool app for all you music aficionados out there, and I would very much recommend checking it out. I would say that the price is about right for what is on offer within this app, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.

Includes 60 Free Audio Samples

Upon first starting up Noisepad, I found the interface to be very striking in appearance. The black layout is very bold and plain, and really creates a cool but professional atmosphere that lends itself very nicely to getting into the mood for music production.

The app comes with 60 audio samples already included, and if you want to add more you can do so via a few different methods. Firstly, you can download more free samples from within the app, or alternatively you can import your own via iTunes.

If you’re looking for even more samples, then you’ll be pleased to know that you can also download further additions via in-app purchase, and from what I’ve seen of the free samples, I would say that they are likely to be of a very high standard.

Adjust Pitch, Tempo, FX, and Much More

There are tons of customization options, and you can manage your audio samples to a great degree of detail by using the sequencer or applying effects such as delay, reverb, and phase. You can also adjust the pitch of your samples to make sure everything is in the right key.

In addition to all of this, you can set the tempo of your tracks by either tapping to the time you want or by manually adjusting the BMP accordingly. This really is a very comprehensive suite of tools, so I would recommend checking it out to experience the full extent of what is on offer.
