Introduction

Let me start by saying that I don’t have a clue about how American Football actually works. I have seen some matches before, simply because I like the atmosphere of watching the Super Bowl with people from the United States and having been in a stadium during a match was simply exhilarating. Capturing the true essence of American Football in a game is really difficult, and developer Run Games didn’t try to achieve this by creating Football Heroes HD. Instead they delivered a truly fun experience for iPad and iPhone for which you don’t even need to know the rules of the game.

The developer really tried their absolute best to try and make American Football fun for everyone, even if you don’t know the rules. The graphics look really cute and yet you will never lose the ball because there is too much happening on the screen. Don’t expect fully detailed 3D graphics, but instead expect a cute and fun style that will appeal to players from all ages. The sound of the game is also well-though-out, with crowds cheering and awesome sound effects for special moves.

Gameplay

As with every iOS game nowadays, the game is fully controlled by using the touch screen. This works surprisingly well and you will have full control of your whole team, and not only one player. Simply tap the player you want to control and you will be running into free spaces and tackling like there is no tomorrow. You will have to select plays at the start of each gameplay moment, which can be confusing for people who, like me, don’t have a clue what they’re doing, but the plays are more meant for the experienced American Football veterans. The players have special powers and moves which make the game a lot more fun and less dry. These special moves are particularly fun while fighting against your opponent and of course for celebrations when you score a touchdown. You can also play online against other players.

This game even allows you to upgrade your players, making them better, and unlocking special moves. The graphics and sound are perfectly matched with what the game offers; a perfect arcade American Football game. The game is fully compatible with iPhone and iPad and I can suggest this game to anyone who wants to try a new kind of sports game. The game takes  up 180 MB, but you will get a lot of content for this.
