Piano HD app review: play the piano no matter where you are

Reviews

Introduction

Just because you don't have the money to invest in a piano doesn't mean you can't enjoy listening to the beautiful music that is played on one. The Piano HD app for your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad provides you with an extensive collection of beautiful piano music, all of which sounds crisp and clear. There are more than 1,500 compositions to enjoy from some of the most well-known and well-loved musicians who ever lived. This piano app is great for those times you just want to sit back and relax with music, during your daily commute, or even while entertaining.

Music Compositions at Your Fingertips

There is no need to search all around for the top music compositions thanks to this iPad piano app. In this version of the app you are given 75 compositions for free that you can enjoy any time and any place. In total there are 1,500 available which can be purchased through the in-app store in packages; each one is priced at $0.99. If you purchase all the music available it would work out to more than four days’ worth of music if you play it continuously.

With that said this app doesn't score particularly high with customers getting just 2.5 stars. There have been some issues with the performance of the app despite the fact it was addressed in the last update.

Enjoying the Music

Through this app you will be able to enjoy musical compositions from such people as Ludwig von Beethoven, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and Johann Sebastian Bach. A really cool feature here is the ability to connect external MIDI devices so that you can play the app through an external controller. This makes it possible for more than just you to enjoy the beautiful classical music. MIDI Input/Output is another option, which is free in this version. This latest version includes improvements to the user interface, graphics, and fixed a number of bugs.

The user interface is quite simple but that's not necessarily a bad thing in this app. It’s not as sleek and filled with features as some other options out there but this minimalist approach also makes it easy to use. I find the customer rating score a bit harsh; it’s definitely far from perfect but at the same time it has a lot of really good features going for it.
