Kid Origami app review: let the kids take part

Reviews

Introduction

Origami isn't just for adults to master; kids can take part as well. The Kid Origami app for your iPod touch, iPad, and iPhone provides kids with easy-to-understand instructions on how to create their own cute origami. The app can be used even by young kids as long as they can fold a piece of paper. With the help of this app they will be wowing Mom and Dad with their cute and fun creations.

A Child-Friendly Approach

There is no doubt that origami is very beautiful but it can also be very hard and confusing to make. This app takes a child-friendly approach giving kids easy-to-understand instructions. In the latest version of this app new origami has been added so kids can have even more fun. The user interface has been updated and now the app keeps track of the child's history. Origami is of course fun for kids to learn but it also works on their hand and eye coordination, concentration, and fine motor skills.

Best iphone and ipad apps

This app seems to be hitting the mark with users who give it four out of five stars. Young children will instantly be attracted to the graphics and want to take part in all the instructions offered. This is an education-based app but feels more like entertainment or a game.

Using the App

When you launch the app it is a very simple menu, choose to start, check out the history, and share by Facebook and Twitter. Kids have a selection of origami shapes to choose from. The instructions are given in diagram form to make it easy for them to understand. The written instructions appear at the top of the screen and are just one sentence long. Kids can tap through the images to advance through the steps.

The menu of origami shapes works the same way in that you can tap on the screen to advance through the offerings. I do wish the instructions were a bit more detailed, as sometimes it’s hard to tell where exactly the fold is supposed to be. Additionally, the app is supported by ads which take up a lot of the screen. This is unfortunate when you are needing to see the images in detail. I think the main pro in this app is the fact that the user interface is so child-friendly.
