Introduction

If Target is a store you frequently visit and buy from, get ready to save even more money when you shop from there! Cartwheel is an iPhone and iPad app made by Target to help you get more offers and discounts from five to over 50 percent.

The app offers a varied selection of discounts and offers either on specific products or on categories allowing you to find what you are looking for easily and quickly. You can select up to 12 offers from the hundreds of available ones and save them on your iPhone or iPad for use in-store.

To get started, you will first have to install the Cartwheel by Target app on your iPhone or iPad. When you first open up the app, you will be asked to log in through Facebook. When I let the app have access to my account, I made sure to tap “skip” when it asked if it could post on my wall on my behalf.

When you finally log in, you will get a list of offers that are currently going on. If you don't want to pick out any of these, simply tap the back button. Here you will find a search box where you can enter categories or terms. Otherwise, you can simply start browsing through categories. I personally prefer the latter because I didn't find the search box to be quite as useful.

If you find an offer you'd like to avail in-store, save it to your Cartwheel by tapping on it and then on the Add button. This way, you can add up to 12 offers. Any more than 12 and you will receive a message stating that to add this offer, one of the other ones will have to be removed first. Each offer also has further details about itself such as the number of users who have availed that offer and some information about the product.

All your offers are saved under the “my Cartwheel” section, where you will be able to view bar codes. These bar codes can be scanned when you are purchasing the item to get the discount. These discounts can be used multiple times until they expire. To get a sense of how much you're saving using this app, there is a Total Savings counter which I really liked to see!
